Lord St. Simon has finally been tempted into marriage by the daughter of a Californian millionaire. But the former Miss Hatty Doran disappears during the wedding breakfast. Is Lord St. Simon's abandoned mistress behind it? Will Holmes be able to solve the mystery of the whereabouts of Lady St. Simon?
