I thanked the Lord when Holmes finally got another case. His energies without one had been so great I had taken to dragging him outdoors at every opportunity to expend them safely. Not that I minded the indoors days but the way he leapt upon the deductions presented by that pipe sent relief all the way down to my backside.

No one ever sees what’s right in front of them, Holmes had said. They certainly wouldn’t notice the two of them behind the ballroom curtain at the Scotland Yard Christmas party.

“I am not sure about this,” Watson said.

“Relax, Watson,” said Holmes, his hands dropping to undo the buttons of Watson’s trousers. “When have I ever been wrong?”

“Norbury.”

Oh! You DID go there! And it's awesome. There's a wonderful ambiguity in the last piece. Is Watson merely kidding or actually trying to warn Holmes off? It's sexy and clever. Well done!
