Pacing down the yew avenue, where Sir Charles Baskerville met his gruesome end, I seemed to hear the sounds of spectral footsteps still echoing eerily in the shade of the trees. Although it was still dusk, here all was darkness and gloom. Wait! Did I see a faint flicker of phosphorescence? Was that the shadow of ...of a gigantic hound?
