I never minded rising with the sun, seeing a fresh morning before anyone else stirred. It were promising fine that day, the sky turning blue and clear.

The peace broke soon enough. A white-faced chap staggered off the train, clutching a bloody handkerchief to his hand. There was only one thing to do: I took him to good Doctor Watson.

Indeed. A medical case at the station, it goes to the good doctor, and if it's a mystery, it goes to the great detective. In this case, it happens to be both!
