Finally I was left in peace. I sighed contentedly, munching my hay. The people had gone, including the fellow who had rubbed my head with an awful wet object, and the foul-smelling man who had shut me in a strange stable. Ned had been the only familiar face. Now, at last, I could have rest easy in my own box.
