Author's Notes: His hard, dry statement needs some little editing to soften it into the terms of real life.
I’m not the first person to have noticed there are phrases in ILLU that can be amusingly misinterpreted, but I thought I’d have a go at editing some of them together. I have used 8 phrases in total: they were all written by Conan Doyle – he just didn’t have them in this particular order ^^” The punctuation has also been adjusted a little.
I acknowledge spacemutineer’s LADY ficlet here as well for putting ideas in my head ^^



I had asked him whether anything was stirring: “I am here to be used, Holmes.”

“I love to come to close grips with my man. You had best come home with me…”



“Ah!” he cried. “Ah! Draw off at once! Can a human being be placed in a more trying position?

“To have it at both ends is too confusing.”
