"I-- thank you, but upon reflection, I think the constabulary have the right idea of things after all."
In what had by that time become a familiar scene, the young lady was gone almost before she had finished speaking, never having breached the threshold of our sitting room. I heaved a sigh.
"Holmes."
"Yes, Watson?"
"Do clean up this mess."

Date: 2014-02-01 10:57 am (UTC)I do like the idea of potential clients being put off by the mess in the room. Watson has the right idea.

Date: 2014-02-01 08:14 pm (UTC)I love the fact that Holmes is apparently oblivious to the effect his piles of paper are having on his clients. But now Watson has pointed out he's losing cases, Holmes probably will make the effort to tidy up. His work is what is most important to him.
So, we'll see you tomorrow..? ^^

Date: 2014-02-01 08:49 pm (UTC)Haha, I see Holmes here as having stuck himself in a rather unkind cycle of lethargic because no case/doesn't clean/mess loses potential clients/lethargic because no case/etc. Good thing he has Watson there to give him the multitude of shoves he needs.
I do hope so!
