A/N: I could say I was sorry, but that wouldn't be true.

“I see it’s bulldog features that I have now,” Lestrade remarked to me, as he read the draft of what was to be my latest submission to The Strand Magazine.  “I suppose it’s an improvement on ferret like.”

“I know neither is accurate, but if I told the truth I would sound like Mouselet’s descriptions of Stanley Hopkins,” I replied.

I had to do some research into the back entries of the comm, and now I'd rather wish Watson would come out with how he truly would describe of Lestrade. Lovely dynamics between those two. :)

Yes, my head canon is that Mouselet is totally enamoured of Stanley Hopkins - these 60s have spawned two longer fics. My other head canon is that Watson and Lestrade retired together to the West Country (two elderly gentlemen leaving together to keep the costs down, no-one need know about the living arrangements).

Gracious - two 60s ^^ And most amusing ^_^ I know Watson doesn't want to give everything away by going into rhapsodies, but is it really necessary to refer to his beloved as "bulldog-featured" instead? *giggles*

Lestrade can always take comfort in a misleading description being very helpful. Must get a bit of joshing at the Yard, though.
