GLOR -- The Gloria Scott

Watson’s eyes followed my every movement, feverishly bright. “I wasn’t gossiping about you,” he said abruptly.

“Of course not,” I assured him.

“Couldn’t even if I wanted to. I know more about the history of the fellow treating me than yours.”

The truth of that hit me like a blow. When Watson was well again, we would have to talk.

Wow, I'd love to see the scene that snippet came out of... Is it from your Nano contribution or a longer fic idea? It's certainly intriguing.

Thank you! I'm afraid this isn't from anything in particular. I just got to wondering *why* Holmes suddenly started spontaneously telling Watson about his past and this case, when Watson himself says in GLOR that Holmes has previously resisted all his attempts at discovery. When I asked my brain that question, I got this little scene. I did have to trim it down to 60 words, but the first draft was only 85. :-)
