To say that the Island of Uffa does not exist is, of course, technically correct.  However, the true island that the Grice Patersons visited is so small, that by naming it I would cause my readers to identify who the guilty party was, and that I am not free to do at this time.  Therefore, it will remain my secret.

John Watson is such a considerate and discreet chronicler of Holmes' great cases. I am sure Holmes can appreciate this, at least, in Watson's writings. You definitely captured ACD's tone here perfectly. :)
