Canon Story: The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax
Title: Companion
Author: thesmallhobbit
Rating: PG

I had hoped that Holmes would not pursue the question of who I had shared a cab with.  He is not normally given to jealousy, but the knowledge that my companion was none other than Inspector Stanley Hopkins might have affected him.  Not that he had any cause for worry, since I still only have eyes for my dearest Lestrade.

You know, that does make a lot of sense... (In the insane Small Hobbit world I seem to have ended up living in :P)

Oh, my! Seeing Holmes's reaction would have been interesting indeed, had he deduced all that.

Perhaps that's the real reason Holmes left the matter where he did. ;)

Aw, you and your unusual pairings. ^^ You are planning to persuade us all of their correctness, right? Sneaky, yet fairly successful tactic. Now you made me wondering ... would Holmes really be jealous of Hopkins?
