“I know I have it in me to make my name famous,” said Holmes.

“Indeed!” declared his new flatmate. “Soon everyone will know the name ‘Sherwood Holmes’!”

Holmes frowned. “It’s ‘Sherlock’.”

“My apologies,” said Watson. “Everyone will know the name ‘Sherlogg Holmes’!”

“That’s still…”

“‘Sherlott’?”

“No.” Holmes sighed. “Perhaps I don’t have it in me to make my name famous.”

It has to be said that without ACD we all would stumble just like your Watson here over hearing Holmes' odd first name for the first time. This is hilarious! :)

ACD does go in for some pretty unusual names - and nobody ever says: "Sorry, I didn't quite catch that." :P
