The die is cast: the villain goes up a ladder.

Holmes follows but finds a snake at the top and slides back to where he started from.

It’s Watson’s turn. He advances, ascends the second ladder and catches up with the murderous zookeeper.

“Holmes afraid of snakes, is he?” sneers the fugitive.

Watson throws a punch to win the game!

NLR_Alicia took the idea that Holmes was afraid of snakes - or not - and ran with it so brilliantly; I will always regret that she never finished Venomous Creatures.

Must admit I've only read "Just One Breath" by that author. I must go and have a look through more of her work ^^

If I could have one wish in all the fandom, I would wish her Venomous Creatures to be finished. Where, oh where was she going with that one? The Longest Night is unfinished also, but we know what's going to happen there as they head off to Reichenbach, but how could she possibly resolve Venomous Creatures?

I envy you that you haven't read all of her stories yet. She was the most amazing writer.

The Courtship of Rabbits and Tales of the White Hart are both lighthearted and wonderful (in a slashy way) Blood Memory is haunting and complete in itself although it's billed as a prequel. All of her stories are amazing! And, and...have I fangrrled enough now???
