I find Violet Hunter's hair strangely fascinating. When I touch it (purely for scientific research) I am curious as to how such a simple thing can produce such a profound effect; accelerated heartbeat, dilated pupils, a strange fluttering sensation in my midsection.

Can this be arousal? Then why do I feel it so strongly when I touch my Watson's hand?

I love the approach you've taken: Holmes does find Miss Hunter attractive - it's just he finds Watson more so. And I find Holmes' innocence in this situation rather moving.
