With many of our readers planning on taking a summer holiday this month, we would like to remind them it is important to ensure the address is correct when sending postcards to friends and relations.  A leafy glade with the message, “Having a lovely time; wish you were here, Violet”, might, if sent to the wrong address, cause significant problems.

Well, this is all very intriguing. I'd love to know the story behind it... (Is it Dr. Watson getting into trouble? Or perhaps Mr. Sherlock Holmes was the accidental recipient - leading to a good-natured ribbing from his friend? ^^)

We understand the recipient was forced to buy his wife a large bunch of flowers, but, as they contained violets, they did not have the desired effect.
