Story: The Lion’s Mane

Rating: Gen

Summary: One spineless creature consults another.

“‘A rowing blue? Just stops by uninvited, eh?’ And I said, ‘Yes.’ Then he said, ‘Find London gloomy now, do you?’ and I said, ‘Yes.’ ‘The house’s lonely?’ And I said, ‘Yes.’ And then he said, ‘Well whose fault is that?!’ and disengaged the line. What do you think?”

He peered into the tidal pool.

“The bees were less reticent.”

Your summary is harsh but amusing ^^

That's a great last line to your 60. I feel rather sorry for poor Holmes - even telling his troubles to jellyfish now. But never quite managing to say what he wants to Watson.

Even nature is telling Holmes he should have got his act together. Very clever!

"Call him back, you idiot!" one of the sea urchins pipes up. "Even I've got more spine than you!"

The great genius of Bert Coules' BBC Radio One adaptation of LION is that it centers COMPLETELY around Watson (Holmes tells him the story as a flashback during one of Watson's weekend visits).
