Watson raised an eyebrow.

Holmes nodded.

“Apparently Mama first met Papa while burgling his family home on a dare. She stole his heart. And his collection of toy soldiers.”

Holmes sighed.

“Papa used to insist marrying her was the only way he could get them back.”
