Canon Story: The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax
Title: Doctor’s Orders
Author: Mafief
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Author’s Notes: I’m bridging the gap between Holmes’ changed opinion of the Turkish baths from ILLU to LADY. Watson must have been very persuasive.
Summary Watson knew that both him and Holmes had been distrurbed by the conclusion of the case. He decided to do something about it.
“Come on, Holmes, off the settee. You have been there since yesterday”
The lump of dressing gown and rug grunted and kept motionless.
“We need a change, a cleanser of the system.”
The lump was unresponsive.
“We should go to the Turkish baths.”
“I have been before,” muttered Holmes.
“But not with me and not at the Northumberland Avenue establishment.”

Date: 2018-04-06 08:52 pm (UTC)I mean, I knew beforehand that Turkish baths are mentioned in LADY and in ILLU but I'd never considered Holmes' changing attitude before. You're quite right - he is mildly disparaging about Turkish baths in LADY but by the time we get to ILLU he's apparently become an enthusiast ^___^

Date: 2018-04-08 02:48 am (UTC)This is my second time all of the way through the canon, and I think my next time needs to be in one of the chronological order versions. Right now, I'm finding jumping around from pre-hiatus to post-hiatus or changing opinions like that rather jarring. So reading LAST tomorrow (next week) is like, 'OK, and now I'm at the end but still haven't read STUD.' Oh well, this is just my little isolated non-issue. :)
