What an inspired idea to put these two characters together in a pairing. Echoing Small Hobbit - the BDSM does seem to fit perfectly with Isadora Klein's personality.

And it's so interesting to compare the loyal footman in this situation with Douglas Maberley. The footman also can't quite let Isadora go - continues to work for her and acknowledges nobody else compares to her. But he's willing to accept the 'rules' and knows the affair is irrevocably over.

Thank you! It's a bit of a cliche, but also Mrs Klein had to have something to keep so many young men interested in her. ;)

I was struck with the few sentences we get from the "machine-like" footman. "The machine broke down" was such an odd phrasing. It did seem there was a special kind of relationship hidden between the man and his employer. :)
