I will get back in the habit of doing these every week, instead of in batches, I swear.

Canon Story: The Red-Headed League
Title: The Role Of A Friend
Rating: G

That Watson's visit to Baker Street was to avoid matrimonial strife was obvious both from the bitterness with which he said, “My practice is never very absorbing,” and his reluctance to return home after the concert. Accordingly, once the case was wrapped up, I took him home, plied him with brandy, and gave him the opportunity to unburden himself.

Canon Story: The Reigate Squires
Title: A Bachelor Establishment
Rating: PG
A/N: Holmes/Watson.

“Watson, I have no wish to go to the country to be fussed over by female servants and restrained by social mores from being close to you.”

“You misunderstand, Holmes. The Colonel runs an extremely discreet bachelor household. There will be no problem if we choose to spend whole days in bed together.”

“When is the train?”

Canon Story: The Resident Patient
Title: Trouble
Rating: PG
A/N: Holmes/Watson.

I first realised the trouble Watson was going to cause me not when the flick of his tongue as he turned a page with a licked finger caused me to drop a test tube and lose a whole day's work, but when three hours walking with him passed like ten minutes and was well worth the loss of my research.

Holmes appears to have fallen for Watson rather badly in the final drabble! And such a shame that the problem of the Reigate Squires interfered with their "bed rest"!

My goodness, the Colonel should make a business out of that!

Every recipe works better the more it's tested. I'm sure Holmes will be able to mix it up in ten minutes the next time, unless some memory keeps him from concentrating...

Awesome set! I like each of these differently.

The first is particularly intriguing and begs for expansion. I want to be a fly on the wall for that conversation! Just so much to unpack there, and a ripe opportunity for delicious angst.

The second is adorable. "When is the train?" Hee!

And the third I really appreciate because you and I took similar angles to The Resident Patient here with the chemistry experiment and walk. Similar, but with different motivations and implications, and I LOVE that. These 60s are so much fun! Thanks for doing them with us, and with me!

Oh, I do enjoy your Holmes and your Holmes-voice. All three of these are delightful. It's so wonderful seeing everyone's differing takes on these stories. And congratulations on catching up! :-)

Oh! I adore it when Holmes is smitten.

Very nice!

(And you're not alone in the needing-to-catch-up boat.)

Aw, those are all lovely! I really like Holmes' quick turnaround once he realized he and Watson would be at some liberty in the country. :-) But I also love the idea of Holmes serving as Watson's sounding board about his marriage as well, as a good friend would.
