He’s not coming.

But why would he, after all? Burgeoning practice, young bride... a normal life. What room was left for an eccentric detective friend and his macabre adventures?

None. And you knew that. This is how you always knew it would end.

Yes, happily Watson does show up! But Watson describes Holmes as pacing the platform when he walks up, and that stuck in my mind. Maybe my favorite thing to do for these 60 for 60s is to check in on a moment in time in the story for some additional details. It's a lot of fun!
