A/N: I was really struck by the fact that this is the second time in as many stories that Watson wakes to find Holmes at his bedside...


This was the second time Holmes had barged into my bedroom in the early hours. Not that I begrudged him the liberty, but… perhaps there was a more practical solution.

To my pleasant surprise, Holmes was amenable. Now, if he desires to wake me, he need only reach his arm across the bed. And I fancy that he sleeps better.

Thanks! It really struck me, reading them in this order, how many times Holmes wakes Watson up. And we haven't even gotten to the story where they spend the night in the same bedroom. :-)

But that selection works as well and as Holmes clearly was wanting to look at the doctor fondly for a few minutes before waking him, lest he would have knocked.... I imagine Holmes found that solution amenable.
