“Your husband’s latest story is splendid,” said Mrs. Hudson.

“Yes, apart from the printers’ errors…” Mrs. Watson sipped her tea. “‘1887’, and myself at my ‘mother’s’. And poor Mama dead for twenty years! I was visiting my mother country—Scotland. Where I was born and went to school.”

She sighed.

“They’ll start to think John had more than one wife...”

To say that the Island of Uffa does not exist is, of course, technically correct.  However, the true island that the Grice Patersons visited is so small, that by naming it I would cause my readers to identify who the guilty party was, and that I am not free to do at this time.  Therefore, it will remain my secret.
