Immediately the men let go of their bags, surrounded by policemen. Jane Moriarty opened a bag and sorted through the dirty shirts inside.
“I’ll never understand how Holmes can scribble notes on his sleeves for all the world to see.”
One shirt she put back, writing on its cuff: ‘Hands off other people’s dirty laundry, beloved brother.’
