Agatha was reluctant to provide Holmes with all the details he needed, as if her female intuition had picked up his internal disgust at the situation. How could he push past that?

If I truly loved her, what would I do? If she were Watson... The answer was obvious. He took her hand.

LOL - I love that you took on that dratted proposal to Agatha, and where you took it. That is indeed one of the more head-scratching moments in this story, particularly given Watson's assertions elsewhere that Holmes was always chivalrous to the fairer sex... He certainly wasn't to Agatha!
