Sherlock Holmes: 60 for 60

We know you all love Dr Watson (yes, Mouselet, we know you love Inspector Hopkins too!) and so we would encourage you to hop, skip and jump along to Watson's Woes on Dreamwidth where during February everyone (and that includes you) is being challenged to share in the love for the good Doctor.

Leave kudos on AO3, leave comments on some of the wonderful fics you have read and artwork you have admired, and even recommend these excellent works to others.  Keep a record of what you have done and you will receive badges in recognition.  What could be easier?

We know a number of you like to write more than 60 words for a story.  It is of course already possible to write up to 500 words at holmes_minor but for one month only there are further opportunities at Watson's Woes on Dreamwidth.  That month, as the title of the post indicates, is July.

And for this month, our dear doctor does not need to even suffer woes, but merely enjoy his adventures, or doze peacefully by the fire.  In fact, it is possible to feature the doctor in other places and times.  We understand versions of Dr Watson in the early twenty-first century are very popular.

Each day there will be a different prompt.  And for this year the prompts will be alternating between prompts from previous years and new prompts, with the option to do one or the other or both.  (Or even just chose the prompts which take your fancy.)

So, what are you waiting for?  We understand there is a sale of ink and foolscap paper at a pawnbroker's shop in Coburg Square - just knock on the door and ask for Jabez Wilson.

We all have our own ideas about how Dr Watson would like to spend December, whether it would be hot on the heels of an escaping criminal or sitting comfortably in front of the fire sipping mulled wine.  And now you have the opportunity to share those ideas with others.

Once more this year watsons_woes are running WAdvent, with the chance to contribute tales, poems or artwork.  So can we encourage you to head over to the WAdvent Calendar 2016 and check which dates are available and maybe sign up to take one.  In addition, on the calendar you will see certain dates are marked with a present.  These will be open prompt days when we are promised all sorts of excitement.

And for everyone, whether or not you are able to contribute, don't forget to head to watsons_woes every day in December to open up the next window of the WAdvent Calendar.

A new Livejournal comm for all ficlets and poems of 500 words or less, for all characters belonging to the ACD Holmes 'verse.
